Openhouse & Farm Tour

Sunday, June 3, 2012 10am-2pm.
There will be wagon rides, refreshments, games, baby chicks hatching, new born calves, kittens and a lot of fun!

My kids really enjoyed going out to Edencrest, to see the animals and the farm. I was delighted to findout all the fresh CSA food you have available, including the pasture-raised beef.

CSA Food Basket

Fresh Organic Grown Produce At A Fair Price For Both You And The Farmer

Based on the Community Shared Agriculture (CSA) model, people purchase annual shares in the farm's harvest and, in return, receive weekly food baskets full of fresh produce throughout the season.

The weekly harvest is shared between all members, with variety and quantity varying with the time of year. Smaller quantities will be in your basket early in the season while July, August and September will have an abundance.

Consumer demand for locally produced, affordable organic food has driven the evolution of CSA's.

UPDATE: We are now taking applications for the Winter 2011/12 CSA and applications for the Summer 2012 CSA-get on the list now the 100 Mile Diet is catching on!  We are accepting 200 applications for the summer of 2012.

When you join, you are not just buying vegetables, you are supporting sustainable farming practices and contributing to a reliable, healthy, local food supply and income for the farmers.

What is a Share?

One share is geared to provide produce for a family of 2 Adults and 2 Small Children.  Larger families may want to consider purchasing two shares.

Organic Produce

Growing food organically includes such practices as the use of crop rotations, cover cropping and using natural ammendments to improve the soil and plant health.

Growing organicaly is more labour intensive than traditional farming. Edencrest Farms is now Certified Organic. We only use organic untreated seeds and heirloom varieties. We do not use any form of chemicals, herbicides, pesticides or fertilizers.

At our annual Open House, you will see the gardens and the pick up area for your baskets of produce. There will be wagon rides, refreshments, games, baby chicks hatching, new born calves, kittens, and a lot of fun! Bring your family and experience the beautiful view overlooking Minesing Valley.
